In view of rising applications for enrollment from overseas students, the prestigious Delhi University (DU) of India is starting a helpline and an e-mail chatting service for foreign applicants, said the Hindi daily Hindustan on Tuesday.
Beginning May 4, a tele-counselling chatting service and an e-mail chatting service will attend to queries by prospective students, the paper quoted Student Affairs Dean S.K. Vij as saying.
The university had decided to answer questions from students on the phone and over the e-mail so they can get queries sorted out sitting at home in their own countries, said the paper.
Prospective students can talk on any issue including admission dates, course, DU colleges, fees and get information straightway, said the report.
The Delhi University has about 2,000 foreign students from Nepal, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, China, Germany, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Canada, the Congo and the United States. |
