A 18-year-old girl has allegedly committed suicide in the national capital, apparently after getting depressed when she found that it would be very difficult for her to get admission into any college, police said on Wednesday.
The girl, who cleared the Class XII exams with 65 per cent in science stream, was found hanging at her residence in Kondli around 8:30 pm on Tuesday.
She had yesterday gone to check the second cut-off list of Delhi University for admission in degree classes and had returned depressed as the ceiling for getting admission was higher than her marks.
Her parents told the police that she came back home depressed as she thought it would be difficult to get admission in a regular college. Her father Gopal Das runs a grocery shop in the area.
No suicide note was recovered from her possession.
Delhi University has announced the second cut-off list for admissions late on Monday.
In another incident, a Class X student was found hanging in his Aman Vihar residence on Tuesday. His body was discovered by his sister.
