"With the emergence of nanotechnology, MEMS, smart materials and next generation of sensors, the field of electroceramics has taken centre-stage. The continued growth of these areas will critically depend on the availability of novel electroceramics. This will require efforts on the part of scientists and technologists to develop newer types of electroceramics with tailored properties. The International Conference on Electroceramics (ICE) provides a forum for bringing together some of the best scientists and engineers from all over the world and enabling them to keep abreast of the latest developments and advances at the frontiers of the field. The next conference in this series, ICE-2009, is scheduled to take place at the University of Delhi during December 13-17, 2009. I invite all of you to take part in this important event and welcome you to New Delhi and to India with the fastest growing economy after China and a land with a wonderful civilization and culture”.

Prof. Ram P. Tandon

Conference Chair, University of Delhi
